ولد الشاعر علي محمود خضير (١٩٨٣) ببغداد ويعدُ أبرز الشعراء العراقيين الشباب الذين ظهروا بعد حرب 2003 التي انتهت بأحتلال العراق.
تمتاز قصائده بالعناية باللغة وتضمين النثر زخماً شعرياً يعنى بالتأمل في علاقة الذات بالعالم، وفق إطار تساؤلي ذات نبرة رثائية.
يقول منجد عساف عن مجموعة الشاعر الجديدة (الحياة بالنيابة) "التفكير العميق بالأشياء التي تتلاشى وتزول تدريجياً وانفتاح الذات على معنى كونياً يحررها من شروط الزمان والمكان وإستثمار الواقعي ومزجه بالخيالي ومحاولة تجريد الحكاية الشخصية لتصبح حكاية عامة تخص كل قارئ وإستقصاء قيم كالوهم والتجربة الشخصية والعزلة والنظرة الكُليّة الرثائية للظواهر، محاولات متواصلة سيجدها المتلقي وهو ينتقل بين نصوص الكتاب عبر بنية وشكل متماسك وحيوي الى حد بعيد.) صدر له في عام 2010 مجموعة شعرية بعنوان "الحالم يستيقظ" نالت نجاحاً لافتاً وكتب فيها مراجعات نقدية عديدة.
