تطرح هذه الدراسة رؤية جديدة للخطاب، تشمل: ماهيته، أنساقه الرئيسة، طرائق عمل تلك الأنساق في الوعي والثقافة؛ وذلك بهدف الإسهام في إعادة بناء مفهومه وحل إشكالياته التي ما تزال تشكل على كثير من الباحثين والدارسين.
فعلى الرغم من الجهود الكثيرة والكبيرة التي بذلها باحثون غربيون وعرب في سبيل بناء مفهوم الخطاب وتطويره، فإننا لا نزال نشعر بأن ثمة حاجة ملحّة لمزيد من النظر والتدقيق في هذا المفهوم، على الأقل، انطلاقاً من موروثنا الثقافي والحضاري. لا سيما أن بعض الباحثين العرب قد اكتفى – فقط – بجهد الآخر الذي ما انفك يبني ويعيد بناء مفهوم الخطاب؛ انطلاقاً من موروثه الثقافي والحضاري الذي تعتقد أنه يختلف، قليلاً أو كثيراً، عن موروثنا. ما يعني أن جهدنا في هذه الدراسة، إنما يستهدف إعادة النظر في مفهوم الخطاب واقتراح آليات محددة لتحليله، انطلاقاً من موروثنا الثقافي والحضاري. وهو جهد نحسب أنه قد يصب في خدمة إعادة مفهمة بعض الآليات والمصطلحات التي نعتقد أنه ستسهم في التأسيس لخطاب نقدي عربي؛ يستقي مفهوماته وآليات عمله من موروث الأمة، أي من خصوصيتنا الثقافية والحضارية، كأمة ذات وجود ثقافي وحضاري ضارب في عمق التاريخ الإنساني.
