"هو الذي رأى" ملحمة بابليّة كتبها الكاهن البابلي"سن ليكي إنيني" الذي عاش حوالي سنة 1100 قبل الميلاد، ونصّه الأخير هذا كان نتاج عملية تطورية طويلة بدأت مع بداية الفترة البابلية القديمة، أي في مطلع الألف الثاني قبل الميلاد، على أيدي كتبة وشعراء كثيرين.
تدور أحداث الملحمة حول الملك السومري الخامس "جلجامش" الذي حكم اورك المدينة السومرية التي تقع في وادي الرافدين، وما يميز هذه الملحمة إنها مدهشة في سبقها لكل الملاحم التي عرفها الإنسان حتى اليوم، مدهشة فيما تطرح من أفكار، وفيما تحمل من أسئلة، مثل التساؤل عن سرّ الحياة ولغز الموت... مدهشة فيما تقدم من معطيات تغني من يطلب الوقوف على الحضارة العامة، والاتجاهات الفكرية، العقائدية والعادات والتقاليد لحقبة تاريخية موغلة في القدم، وفي هذا الكتاب يقدم المحقق "جرجس بسيم ناصيف" نص الملحمة الأدبي بأسلوب شعري موزون ومقفى محاولاً أن يعيد إليها ثوبها الشعري القديم الذي وضعت به في اللغة الآكدية، وغرضه من ذلك أن يرد إليها جماليتها الشعرية التي فقدتها بعد أن ترجمت نثراً، متوخياً المحافظة على حرفية النص وروحه.
