والصفة الثانية التي تتميز بها ملحمة كلكامش، هي أنها بخلاف كل الملاحم التي تناولت مواضيع خاصة ذات علاقة بتاريخ البلاد والشعب الذي أبدعها فإن غرض ملحمة كلكامش إنساني بحت، لا يتعلق ببلاد سومر موطنها بل يتجاوزها إلى آفاق عالمية رحبة من عالمنا الواسع. وبخاصة في مجال الاجتهاد للقضاء على الشر، وتحقيق الأمن والسلام والطمأنينة للناس باجتثاث مصدر شرور العالم وأصله، وتقدم درساً في الإنسانية والمحبة والوئام.
والصفة الثالثة للملحمة "ملحمة كلكامش" هي أنها تعتبر الآن أقدم ملحمة، عرفتها البشرية، فالمعتقد أن ملحمة كلكامش قد دونت في الأصل باللغة السومرية وأنها تتعلق بمليك مدينة "أوروك" -الوركاء- السومري "كلكامش" "بداية الألف الثالث ق.م" ثم ترجمت بعدها إلى اللغة الأكدية خلال الفترة التي حكمت فيها سلالة بابل الأولى من العصر البابلي القديم زهاء "1770ق.م" ووصلت إلينا منها نسخة آشورية متأخرة مدونة خلال القرن السابع ق.م.
والميزة الرابعة لملحمة كلكامس هي أنها ملحمة. أما الصفة الخامسة في ملحمة كلكامش، فهي هامشية الدور الذي لعبته الآلهة فيها، رغم إيمان الكل بها، حيث اقتصر دورها على الثأر للكرامة المتمثل بغضب الآلغهة "عشتار" من إهانة "كلكامش" لها واستغاثتها بوالدها ألإله "آنو" ثم في التفريق بين "كلكامش وأنكيدو" بتقدير التعجيل بموت "أنكيدو" نظراً لقتلهما الثور السماوي الذي أرسله الإله "أنو".
