يحوّل الحرمان سواء جنسياً كان أوسياسياً أو اجتماعياً الإنسان إلى مجرد قزم صغير بالمقارنة مع من يمارس الجنس أو يحتكرالسياسة أو يتجاوز قوانين المجتمع. وللأشخاص في الحياة وفي الروايات خيارات مختلفة في تجاوز الأزمات وبلوغ الغايات. في هذه الرواية ثلاثة رواة مختلفون في التوجه عموماً، وتجمعهم علاقاتهم المختلفة مع ممثل السلطة والحزب الحاكم، ويساهمون كل من زاويته في رسم هذه الشخصية وفضح أساليبها وممارساتها وتجاوزاتها. تعتمد الرواية تقنية في السرد تقوم على تعدد الرواة، الأمر الذي يسمح لكل راوي بتطوير الحدث والحبكة وإكمال المشهد بتفاصيل جديدة. الرواية جريئة في الطرح ومحرضة لكثير من الأسئلة حول شخصيات إشكالية بالنسبة للقارئ العربي، الذي يحمل تجاه شرائح هذه الشخصيات عاطفة مسبقة.
