"النظام الإقليمي للخليج العربي" كتاب يضم دراسة للنظام الإقليمي الخليجي ومحددات تفاعلاته وأنماط هذه التفاعلات عبر ثلاث مراحل من تطوره (تحليل رأسي للنظام)، ودور النظام الدولي والنظام الإقليمي العربي في هذه التفاعلات عبر مرحلتين مميزتين من عمر هذا النظام الدولي: مرحلة القطبية الثنائية ومرحلة ما بعد القطبية الثنائية.
وتفيد مثل هذه الدراسة المقارنة للنظام الخليجي، عبر مراحل تطوره الثلاث وضمن إطار العلاقة بنظامين دوليين لكل منهما خصائصه وتمايزه، في الكشف عن العوامل المسؤولة عن تفاعلاته وتطوراته، ودرجة الثبات والتحول في أهمية هذه العوامل من مرحلة إلى أخرى.
كما تقدم النتائج التي يمكن التوصل إليها في هذه الدراسة مؤشرات مهمة لاحتمالات تطور هذا النظام والسيناريوهات المستقبلية لهذا التطور، بناءً على معرفة مدى خضوعه لعلاقة تبعية للنظام الدولي ووزن تأثير محددات بيئته الداخلية.
