يرى المؤلف في كتابه هذا أن المشكلة ليست في الدين، إنما في ذلك التثبيت الذي يلقاه والذي يصبح به، ليس في تعاليمه الإيمانية فحسب، بل حتى من أكثر تعاليمه دنيوية، خارجاً عن الزمان والمكان، بحيث يصبح كممارسة معيقاً لأي تغير في الأوضاع السائدة، من هنا كانت في الماضي الثورات والإصلاحات الدينية، ولذلك الآن فصل الدين عن الدولة والسياسية والعالم، لكي لا يستغل، ولكي نتمكن من إقامة مجتمع عصري يتعايش فيه جميع أبناء الوطن بشتى دياناتهم، ولكي ترضى الحاجات الإنسانية على أفضل وجه، وفي مقدمتها حاجة بقاء الذات وحاجة الجنس، على طريق تحقيق سعادة الإنسان التي هي غاية ذاتها.
هذا ما رآه الكاتب وبحثه في مؤلفه هذا الذي يعالج فيه أمور ثلاثة هي الثالوث المحرم: الدين كموضوع دراسة علمية، الجنس كمجال للتنوير والتثقيف، والصراع الطبيعي كأداة نظرية وعملية للتحول الاجتماعي، الطبقات والفئات المتسلطة تحرم البحث في هذه المجالات، مكتفية بشتمها بالإلحاد والإباحية والشيوعية، وفي الواقع ليست الكلمات هي ما يؤرق مضجعها، بل ما يمكن أن تساعد على حدوثه ضد المصطلحات.
