يضم هذا الكتاب مباحث في شرح قانون الأحوال الشخصية (الأهلية وما يلحق بها، والوصية، والميراث) إضافة إلى باب الوقف، مقارنةً بالمذاهب الفقهية.
وقد سعينا أن يكون بلغة مسهلة واضحة، وبأسلوب مبسّط بعيد عن التعقيد، مع الاستدلال لكل المباحث بأدلّتها التفصيلية من الكتاب والسنة وغيرهما من الأدلّة المعتمدة، وإن كانت أدلة هذا العلم قلما تخرج عن الكتاب والسنة إلى غيرها من أقوال الصحابة أو اجتهاد الأئمة.
هذا ولم نترك مسألة من مسائل الميراث دون توضيحها بأمثلة محلولة على طريقة الفرضيين، من استخراج أصل المسألة وتوزيع سهامها وطريقة تصحيحها.
وكانت هذه المباحث فقهاً مقارناً بين المذاهب الفقهية الأربعة، على أن الخلاف في مسائله قليل. وقد عزونا مسائل البحث إلى المراجع المعتمدة لدى كل مذهب.
