لا شيء غير العقل اشغل الفلسفة وعلماء التشريح والمنطق والعلوم الإجتماعية طرا، وما زال سرا، بل ما زال السر الهائم في عقول المشتغلين بشؤون العلوم والفنون، العقل تعريفاً وهوية ووظيفة وتربية وأثراً ومستقبلاً، ويكاد يطبق المهتمون بالشأن العربي والإسلامي فيما يخص قضية النهضة سلباً أو إيجاباً، من أن السبب يكمن في (العقل)، سواء كان تعريف العقل هو ذات الفكر والمنهج حيث تسالمنا على الموروث من المعارف والعلوم دونما نقد وتجديد، وطرق التفكير التقليدية، او كان تعريف العقل ما يلزم منه السلوك الممدوح والمأثور كما تفيد الأدبيات العربية والإسلامية بشكل عام، حيث جمدنا على منظومة قيم أخلاقية بشكل ساذج وحرفي، ولم نجترح منظومة اخلاقية تتماشى مع التطورات الهائلة التي تمر بها قضية الأخلاق اليوم، أو كان العقل هو ذات وطائفة من تجريد وتعميم وإستنباط ومقارنة وما شابه ذلك، حيث لم نبدل الجهد المطلوب للإرتقاء بهذه الوظائف عبر عملية تربوية جادة، وحتى لو أخذنا العقل بمعنى الدماغ كما ترى المدارس المادية فما زلنا في هذا المجال عيالاً على غيرنا كما هو واضح.
هذه السلسلة التي بين يديك أخي القارئ محاولة متواضعة لإستعراض قضية العقل عبر ما طرحه الفكر الإنساني حول هذه القضية في سياق تشريجي نقدي، دون مراعاة للتسلسل زمني لأسباب سوف تتضح لك من خلال القراءة، والهدف البعيد هو إيجاد منهجي منطقي تربوي يهدف إلى إستثمار العقل بأقصى جهد ممكن، الأمر الذي تتطلبه مسؤولية اللحاق بالأمم المتطورة الفاعلة النشطة.
