تحولت قضية الحجاب في الإسلام اليوم إلى قضية ساخنة حقاً، فقد اثيرت في فضاء الجدل والحوار بشكل جاد ومعمق وجذاب أيضاً، لم تكن القضية كموضوع إثارة شيئاً جديداً، ولكن أن تكون بهذه السخونة والحرارة فهو لشيء جديد بمعنى الكلمة، والغريب أن يشارك في القضية طرحا وحواراً ونقاشاً حتى من غير وسط المؤمنين وبالإنطلاق من ساحة الإيمان نفسه، أي من خلال النصوص الدينية البحتة، قرآنا وسنة، الأمر الذي يؤكد حيوية القضية وأهميتها، مهما كانت الدوافع والعوامل الكامنة وراء ذلك، وفي الوسط المؤمن كان هناك من يطلق عليه بالمتشدد، وهناك من يطلق عليه بالمنفتح، وبين هذا وذاك صور ونماذج متعددة، حتى صار قضية معقدة داخل الوسط المؤمن نفسه، ويحار المؤمن كيف لا يكون هناك نموذج واضح بيَن في مطاوي الشريعة الكريمة لهذه القضية رغم أنها مصيرية بالنسبة للمسلمة؟
تناول هذا الكتاب قضية، منطلقاً من قراءة النصوص الشرعية الواردة في ضوء مقتربات لغوية وعرفية وتاريخية، ولم يعد أهمية لما يسمى بالإجماع، سواء إجماع العلماء أو الأئمة أو المتشرعة أو العقلاء. فإن الأساس لدى المؤلف هو الكتاب المجيد وما يصح عن النبي الكريم وأهل بيته الطاهرين والصحابة الجباء.
