يصطدم البحث في المسائل الإنسانية بكثير من العوائق، والصعوبات، بالقياس إلى القضايا الطبيعية التجريبية، والتي تكون بالنسبة للظواهر الإنسانية مجرّد لعب أطفال، وقد اهتمت الإبيستيمولوجيا كفضاء معرفي بمبحث العوائق المعرفية والمنهجية في الدراسات البحثية عموماً، والإنسانية بوجه أخص.
ونجد إستتباعات العوائق ظاهرةً في مسألة تهميش المجتمعات الشرقية، وتصدير نظرة السمو والتعالي للإنسان الغربي من العادات الذهنية التي أصبح حضورها في الفكر الشرقي من الأمور الضرورية للبقاء، والتي كانت وليدة المركزية الإثنية التي أسس لها العرب بكلّه وكلكله على مستوى الممارسات السياسية، وعلى صعيد أكثر خطورة، وهو الحقل التنظيري الذي كانت المفاهيم، والتصورات على رأس القائمة المطلوبة، فمفاهيم الحرية والعدل والمساواة والمحبة... كحدود أو كتصورات كان الغرب هو الأصل والسابق في تكريسها والدفاع عنها.
النتيجة أن المواطنة نتاج الأمل الإنساني كله، وليست حكراً على فكر دون فكر، وإعلان الفكر الغربي بأبوَّته لها، لا يلغي الميراث الجيني، الذي تقاطعت فيه الثقافات، في إنتاج الأمل في العيش الكريم في ظلّ نظام سياسي مؤسس على قيم إنسانية عالمية تغيب فيها الحدود الإثنية، والجغرافية.
