هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على مستوى تطور مفهوم الإنتماء لدى طلبة المدارس الأساسية الأردنية، ومعرفة أثر كل من متغيرات: إختلاف الصف، والجنس، وقطاع التعليم، ومكان الإقامة في تطور هذا المفهوم.
تكونت عينة الدراسة من (2035) طالباً وطالبة وقد تم إختيارها بالطريقة العشوائية من طلبة الصفوف: السادس، والثامن، والعاشر الأساسي في المدارس الحكومية والخاصة التابعة لمديريات وزارة التربية والتعليم في محافظة العاصمة / عمان من مجتمع الدراسة الذي يتكون من (101783) طالباً وطالبة.
وللتعرف على تطور مفهوم الإنتماء عند أفراد الدراسة، تم تصميم أداة قياس خاصة، وذلك لقياس إستجابات الطلبة لأبعاد مفهوم الإنتماء وفق مواقف حياتية مصممة تم طرحها على الطلبة، مستندة إلى الأساس النظري من نظريات الدافعية وبالأخص (نظرية ماسلو)، وكذلك من خلال ما تم رصده من الطلبة في إستبانة التقرير الذاتي لتحديد أبعاد الإنتماء، وتم إستخراج المتوسطات الحسابية، والإنحرافات المعيارية، كما استخدم إختبار (Test - retest)، ومعادلة كرونباخ ألفا (Cronbach - Alpha) لإحتساب معامل الإتساق الداخلي، وإختبار تحليل التباين الأحادي (One Way - Anova)، وإختبار شيفيه (Scheffe) للمقارنات البعدية وذلك للتعرف على الفروق بين مستويات كل متغير.
