يشير العنوان بصيغته الحالية –في الطريق إلى النص- إلى أن الكلام في هذا البحث لن يكون كلاماً في النص ذاته، بل في الطريق إليه (فيما قبل النص). وهذا يقتضي أن النص لا يزال على مسافة منا، في مكان ما قصي، وأن علينا أن نسلك درباً ما في اتجاهه.
غير أن السؤال الذي علينا طرحه في هذا السياق: لكن هل نحن حقاً بحاجة إلى (درب) يهدي توجهنا نحو النص؟ لماذا في الطريق إلى النص وليس في النص ذاته؟! الآن الطريق إلى النص ما يزال غير سالك؟ لذلك فهو (النص) مما يصعب الوصول إليه والكشف عن حقيقته، أو عن ملامح هويته النصية؟ أم لأن الطرق إليه قد باتت كثيرة ومتشعبة، ما أفقدنا القدرة على الاختيار الواعي، وأصابنا بالحيرة المحبطة، وأقعدنا، من ثم، عن مواصلة الرحيل باتجاهه، بحيث صرنا عاجزين عن التمييز بين طريق وطريق، أو بين منهج وآخر؟ أين تقع المشكلة إذن؟ في النص نفسه؟ أم في طرائق الوصول إليه؟ في ضياعه (عنا)، حيث لا طريق واصل يؤمن وصولنا إليه؟ أم في ضياعنا حيث زحمة الطرق وكثرتها، ما أصابنا بالحيرة، وأعاقنا عن الحركة؟
هذا ما سنحاول الإجابة عليه في هذا الكتاب ونأمل من الله التوفيق.
