مرت الأقلية العربية في أرضها في الجزء المحتل من فلسطين في عام 1948م، بمراحل عصيبة، وخاصة خلال الفترة التي امتدت منذ عام 1948م وحتى عام 1966م، حيث ساد الحكم العسكري في كل التجمعات الفلسطينية، و قد صمد في الجزء المحتل في عام 1948م نحو (156) ألف فلسطيني، بعد طرد (850) ألف فلسطيني خارج أرضهم على يد العصابات الصهيونية من الشتيرن والهاغانا والأرغون، وبفعل الزيادة الطبيعية العالية، والخصوبة المرتفعة بين النساء الفلسطينيات داخل الخط الأخضر، فإن الفلسطينيين هناك يتضاعفون كل عشرين عاماً ، وباتت الأقلية العربية في إسرائيل تشكل نحو (19) في المئة من إجمالي السكان اليهود والعرب ، فما حقيقة القوى السياسية العربية داخل الكيان الصهيوني، وما مقدار تمثيل الأقلية العربية في الكنيست، ومن ثم ما حجم حراكها السياسي، الطائفة الدرزية في إسرائيل وأهداف فرض الخدمة الإلزامية عليهم، فلسطينيو 1948م وانتفاضة الأقصى، وما التحولات الديموغرافية والتطورات الاقتصادية التي واكبت وجود الأقلية العربية في أرضها.
