لقد ذكر الأستاذ (حسن قيسي نصر) في مقدمة كتابه مقولة (إن التراث مرآة الشعوب) وهذا الكتاب برهان أكيد على صدق هذه المقولة.
فقد ضمت صفحات الأجزاء الستة من هذا الكتاب تراث جبل العرب بمختلف جوانبه من القصائد والقصص الشعبية والحكايات ومن وصف المعارك والمؤتمرات والإجتماعات والبيانات، ووصف المآثر والبطولات التي خاضها أبناء جبل العرب دفاعاً عن وطنهم وأمتهم.
وقد اختص الجزء الأول من القبسات بتقديم صورة المعارك وقصائد الثورة السورية الكبرى حتى نهاية سنة 1927.
وقدم الجزء الثاني موضوعين رئيسيين الأول مآثر عربية وفيه روايات تاريخية وحكايات ومعارك مع القصائد التي قبلت والثاني تحت عنوان قصائد لها تاريخ تتضمن القصائد ذات الأهمية الإجتماعية والإنتشار الواسع.
وفي الجزء الثالث يتابع القارئ صور النضال السياسي في الجبل ضمن سياق النضال العام للوطن حتى الجلاء سنة 1946.
أما الجزء الرابع فقد تناول محطات تاريخية مضيئة وأبحاث في أدب البادية وشعراء وقصائد ومنتقيات من قصائد تناولت مواضيع مختلفة وقصائد مغناة.
تناول الجزء الخامس أهم الأحداث السياسية التي مرت بسوريا بعيد الإستقلال متطرقاً بالتفصيل إلى خفايا مرحلة الإنقلابات وخلفيات قادتها (الحناوي، الزعيم، الشيشكلي) وصولاً إلى مرحلة الوحدة والإنفصال وما تلاها.
تضمن الجزء السادس أهم القصائد الشعبية في جبل العرب وذلك للعديد من الشعراء كشبلي الأطرش وعلي عبيد ونجم العباس وزيد الأطرش وعيسى عصفور وآخرين غيرهم.
