تعد دراسة الأوراق التجارية من أهم موضوعات القانون التجاري، وذلك لأن النشاط الإقتصادي (التجاري) يقوم على عنصري السرعة والإئتمان، ومن هنا ظهرت أهمية الأوراق التجارية في أنها تساعد على السرعة في المعاملات التجارية، من حيث سرعة تداول الحقوق الثابتة فيها بالتظهير أو التسليم، حسب الأحوال، دون اللجوء إلى حوالة الحق المدينة.
كما تظهر أهمية الأوراق التجارية في أنها الوسيلة المثلى التي يتحقق بها الإئتمان، فالدائن يمنح المدين أجلاً أو إئتماناً بقبوله الوفاء عن طريق سند السحب، أو سند الأمر، ويمنح البنك حامل الورقة التجارية خصماً بقبوله تحويل الورقة إليه، كما يمنح البنك المركزي إئتماناً للبنك بقبوله إجراء عملية خصم الورقة التجارية، وهكذا نشأ في الوسط التجاري بنيان من الإئتمان، وتعد الأوراق التجارية أحد المرتكزات الأساسية في ذلك الإئتمان.
وفي معرض هذا البحث تناول المؤلف دراسة الأوراق التجارية وتضامن الموقعين عليها دراسة مقارنة ما بين التشريع الأردني والتشريعات العربية لا سيما المصري منها؛ من خلال فصل تمهيدي وثلاثة أبواب وهي على التوالي: الفصل التمهيدي: الإلتزام الصرفي وخصائصه، الباب الأول: الشروط اللازمة لتحقق التضامن الصرفي، الباب الثاني: التضامن الصرفي من حيث أطرافه وإجراءاته، الباب الثالث: إنقضاء التضامن الصرفي بالسقوط والتقادم.
