إن لبنان يعتبر بلداً مستهلكاً وليس منتجاً، لذا كان عمل الممثل التجاري مهم جداً لضمان وصول المنتجات ولإشباع حاجات السكان الإستهلاكية، وهو ما سيكون موضوع دراستنا، حيث يشغل موضوع التمثيل التجاري موقع متقدم سواء في فرنسا أو في لبنان، إن لناحية موقعه في الدورة الإقتصادية اللبنانية أو لناحية توسطه بين المنتج والمستهلك.
إنطلاقاً من الوضعية المتقدمة للممثل التجاري، فإننا سنبحث في مفهوم التمثيل التجاري (الفصل الأول)، ومن ثم نميز التمثيل التجاري عن غيره من المؤسسات القانونية (الفصل الثاني)، ولنطاق التمثيل التجاري (الفصل الثالث)، ومن ثم أعرض لإشكالية التمثيل التجاري بين التحكيم والقضاء (الفصل الرابع)، ولإنتهاء عقد التمثيل التجاري (الفصل الخامس)، وللمسؤولية عن فسخ عقد التمثيل التجاري (الفصل السادس)، والفصل السابع أخصصه لعرض بعض المعاملات الإدارية المتعلقة بالتمثيل التجاري، والفصل الأخير أعرض فيه لبعض القوانين المتعلقة بالتمثيل التجاري.
