مذن قامت الثورة المصرية فى الثالث العشرين من يوليو عام 1952 ولم تتوقف المفاجآت والمواقف الصعبة فى تاريخ مصر.. الثورة وإعلان الجمهورية وجلاء الإنجليز و تأميم قناة السويس والوحدة والأنفصال.. أحداث امتلآت بالأفرح والتمرد و الكرامة والأحلام العريضة، ولكنها لم تلبث كثيراً امتزجت بالأحزان و الجراح ولدموع إثر حدوث "النكسة" وضياع خمس الأراضى المصرية متمثلة فى سيناء.. تلك الضربة والطعنة النجلاء التى أفاق عليها الجميع، فكانت علامة فارقة بين ثبات ويقظة تعمل ى صمت لتحقيق النصر.. تلك الفترة الغزيرة المشاعر والاحاسس ملأت صدور المصريين ومنهم الأدباء والمفكرين و الكتاب بالحكايات والقصص المستلهمة من تلك الأحداث المصرية، وهذه الرواية التى كتبها الدكتور "حسن البندارى" من تلك الروايات التى تعيش فى تلك الحقبة وهو واحد من ابنائها، الذين عاشوا "النكسة" والإستنزاف" و "النصر" الأكتوبرى.. فلم يكن سوى واحد من أبطالها.
