تحكى هذه الرواية عن عادات المجتمع المصري المسيحي والذين تزحوا للقاهرة من الريف فى الفترة التى قامت فيها الثورة وكيف ان بطل الرواية قد عمل لدى احد تجار القماش اليهود فى الأزهر ثم اخذ منه تجارته وأصبح غنيا ويروى لنا المؤلف تسلسل حياة اولاده من بعد وكيف يمثل لديهم الطلاق مشكله فى مجتمعنا المسيحي بالرغم من انه شئ مقبول جدا فى الغرب المسيحي أيضا وتستمر أحداث الرواية مبرزه العلاقات بين أبناء المجتمع المصري دون التفريق بين دين او فئة اجتماعيه او عرق.
