في هذا الكتاب يستعرض المعلم والفيلسوف اللبناني كمال جنبلاط الرحلة الخامسة التي قام بها إلى الهند في العام 1956، وأجرى فيها حواراً بين وبين الحكيم الهندي كريشنامنون وتلامذته، تناولوا فيها مسائل مختلفة وشائكة مثل مفهوم (القدر) ، و (الحرية) ، و (الحقيقة) ، و (الحلم) ، (اليقظة) ، (التوحد) ، (العقل) ، (الذات) وغير ذلك من تيارات فكرية وعقائدية مثل الحديث عن "البوذية الزينية" كما يراها جون ليفي، و (السمسكارا القديمة) التي ليس لها وجود "إلا إذا كنت أنت موحداً مع الجسد ومع الفكر)، وغير ذلك من مسائل يناقشها الكتاب تتعلق بالروح والجسد والإدراك والحواس ووعي الذات واليوغا.
جميع تلك المفاهيم والإشكاليات يجري التعبير عنها في الكتاب من خلال الحوار، والقصص التي يرويها الحكيم كريشنامنون ويتم النقاش فيها وفكفكتها وكل ذلك بحثاً عن الحقيقة.
بقول كمال جنبلاط "إن الفكر لا يستطيع أبداً أن يدخل إلى الحقيقة، العقل الأرفع وحده يستطيع أن يرفعكم إلى هناك، إلى الحقيقة، بدون أي جهد منكم. لا تجهدوا فكركم. أنتم لستم بحاجة إلى التنكير بأنكم أنتم قائمون "موجودون" فأنتم منذ الساعة ودائماً وأبداً "ذاتكم". كيف يمكن أن يكون هنالك أي جهد عندما تقولون لذاتكم: "أنا محض وعي، أنا محض وعي!".
يبقى أن نشير أن الكتاب جاء باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية، وضم أحاديث "كريشنامنون" و "غوروناثان" والحكيم "اليوجين" والمعلم "كمال جنبلاط" وحديث لـ "بلاكريشنا الهندي".
