هذه رواية رمزية تأويليّة فلسفية، سحيقة الأغوار، واسعة الأبعاد... لمن يدرك مراميها ومقاصد كاتبها الذي أراد أن يصوّر بحذق نفسيّات شخوص خُطفوا على متن سفينة، ومدى معاناتهم المتفاقمة التي دفعتهم إلى إسترجاع ذكرياتهم الحلوة والمرّة لا سيّما ذكريات الحبّ، وسيلة تطهُّر أمام خطر الموت الداهم.
ويبقى للحوار الحيويّ والعفوي في إطار الحبكة المتماسكة للقصة لتتسلسل أحداثها بشكل مشوّق وجذّاب أنْ يستأثر بلبِّ القارئ الذي يُفاجأ بحلٍّ لم يكن في الحسبان!...
وما يلفت في الرواية تلك اللغة الشعريّة المرهفة، وخصوصاً حين يتغزّل الكاتب بلسان إحدى شخصيات الرواية بحبيبته... وكأنّ هذه الرواية تصبح ملحمة غنائية تومئ إلى مأساة الإنسان وقلقه على مصيره كالسّفينة في مهبّ العاصفة، أو كالسّفينة الّتي خطفها "قراصنة" العصر الحديث...
وقد جعل المؤلف من شخصيّات روايته، وهي في الحقيقة "كائنات من ورق" على حدّ قول الناقد "تزفيتان تودوروف" وكأنها كائنات تنتسب إلى التاريخ، لكنها تستعصي في الوقت نفسه على هذا التاريخ، كما يعتبر الناقد الأميركي "وليام فوكنر"، والمقصود هنا أنّ الرواية تخترق إهاب التاريخ، مع أنها وليدته، من موقع علاقة التاريخ الجدليّة بالوجود...
كما يلفتنا، ودليلاً على قوّة النّزعة الرّمزية في الرّواية اعتماد الكاتب حروفاً أبجدية لأسماء أبطال روايته... وهكذا يظهر من ملامح شخصيّات روايتنا ما يؤشّر على موقعها في قلب الحدث بعيداً من التفاصيل المملّة... وكأن هذه العلامات الأبجدية تختزل وجوه الرهائن التي تتشيّأ في عيون الخاطفين لتغدو مجرّد حروف او مجرّد أرقام!...
لقد فتح كاتب هذه الرواية الرائدة بموضوعها وبمغزاها حيّزاً أدبياً على بحر دون قرار أو ليل دون نهار!...
هذه الرّواية - المسرحية تنفتح على إمتداد مشرّع على مختلف الجهات، إنطلاقاً من ذلك الإنسان - الكائن الذي لا يمكن أن يكون ذاته، وما ذلك الإنسان إلاّ صورة الروائي في مرآة مستمسكاً بقيم الحقّ والعدالة والحريّة الّتي يعتنقها.
