يُشكِّل "مُعجَم الأغاني الشَّعبيَّة الفلسطينيَّة" حَلْقَةً من سِلْسِلَة ثُمانِيَّة أعَدَّها ابن فلسطين البارّ الأستاذ حسين عليّ لوباني، وهي تَتناوَل مَسائلَ ووُجوهاً ونَشاطاتٍ تَتّصل بِقُوَّة وعُمْق بالوَطن السَّليب: فلسطين.
أمّا المَعاجِم السَّبعة الأُخْرَى فهي: مُعجَم الأمثال الفلسطينيَّة، مُعجَم الألفاظ التُّراثيَّة في فلسطين، مُعجَم العامِّيّ والدَّخيل في فلسطين، مُعجَم الأطْعِمَة الفلسطينيَّة، مُعجَم أسماء المُدُن والقُرَى الفلسطينيّة، مُعجَم الألعاب الشَّعبيَّة الفلسطينيَّة، ومُعجَم الكُنَى والمَكنيّات في دُنْيا الأَحْياء والجَمادات.
ويُشكِّل هذا المُعجَم مُحاوَلة مِن المُؤلِّف لِخِدْمة وَطَنِه ثقافيّاً، لِترسيخ هُوِّيته عَن طَريق تَسجيل حَقّ هذا الوَطَن في حِفْظ تُراثه بَعْدَ أن حاوَل المُغْتَصِب طَمْس بَعْض التُّرات الفلسطينيّ، وسَرِقَة بَعْضهِ الآخَر، وإنْتِحال بَعْضه الثالث للقَضاء على الشَّخصيَّة الفلسطينيَّة، وطناً وشعباً وحضارةً وثقافةً وتُراثاً.
ومن هذه المُنْطَلَقات أحصى المُؤلف "الأغانيّ الشَّعبيَّة" التي كان يُردِّها أبناء فلسطين قبلَ عام النَّكبة أي قبل عام (1948) في مُدنهم وقُراهم، وحُقولهم وسُهولهم، وجِبالهم وأَوديتهم: راجِلين أو راكبين، مُجتمِعينَ أو مُتَفرِّقين...
وما زال كثير من الفلسطينيّين يُردِّدون إلى اليوم بَعض الأغاني التراثيَّة الحَميمة: مِثْل: العَتابا والميجانا، والجَفرة ويا غَزبّل، وكُوْكيَّة وعلى المادي، والدَّلعونا وظَريف الطُّوْل...
وقَدْ رَتَّب أسماءَ الأغاني هِجائيّاً، وَضَبط كُلَّ اسم بلفظهِ الشائِع، وقدَّم لِكُلّ أغنية بتعريف يتناول المُناسَبة والمَكان أو الأمكنة التي راجت فيها، وهي معلومات مُفيدة للغاية للقارئ والباحث في آنٍ واحد.
