قد اعتنى الباحثون بالتعريف بجهود مكي في التجويد، والقراءات وتوجيهها، والوقف والإبتداء، والتفسير، في أنشطة الإحتفال بألفيته لكن رسم المصحف لم يحظ بالعناية لثلاثة أسباب، الأول: غياب مخطوطات كتابه المؤلف في رسم المصحف، والثاني: قلة ما ورد في كتبه المطبوعة مما يتعلق برسم المصحف، والثالث: عدم الوقوف عند مخطوطات الرسالة المنسوبة إليه في الرسم، ووجدت أني يمكن أن أسهم في التعريف بهذا الجانب من حياة مكي العلمية من خلال هذا الكتاب الذي يتضمن ثلاثة فصول، وهي: الفصل الأول: تعريف بجهود مكي في رسم المصحف، الفصل الثاني: دراسة الرسالة المنسوبة إليه في الرسم، الفصل الثالث: نص الرسالة المنسوبة إليه في الرسم.
