في توليفة ما بين السرد والنثر، وبنصوص مفتوحة على اللا مكان، واللا زمان، يخط الروائي "صالح السهيمي" مجموعته هذه، بما تحملها من دلالات لتلك الإشكالية القائمة ما بين الذات والآخر، حيث كل تحمل شخصية في هذا العمل الأدبي المتقن إيديولوجيا المرحلة التي تعيشها، لنشهد مع الأديب، صوراً متعددة لمجتمع ما قبل الحداثة حيث راح يقرأ هذا الواقع بمقاربة تاريخية – إجتماعية، عرف من خلالها مجتمع القبيلة، وسلطة الأعراف والتقاليد، مستخدماً فيها مفردات (الغزو، الصيد، الصعلوك، الحصاد)، ليرينا من خلال مسيرة أبطال قصصه طبيعة ذلك المجتمع البدائية والطبية والتي تميّزت بنكهة خاصة ميّزتها عن المجتمع الحضري. فجاءت مقاربته تحمل ما بين طياتها مزيجاً نقدياً، ومعرفياً جديداً، يعبر عن رؤى مثقف محترف جسّد فيها بتقنية بارعة وأسلوب ينأى عن التكلّف والتعقيد تمدّد سلطة الأعراف والتقاليد على أفراد المجتمع، لنرى معاً كيف تذوب "الأنا" في "النحن" وتهب لنجدة القبيلة عند أول خطر داهم، حيث نقرأ في المعلقة الحادية عشرة من كتابه هذا: " ... ليأخذ الحق كاملاً في سيادة قبيلته بين القبائل، وليعزز مبدأ الحرية فيها ...".
هذا، وتحتوي هذه المجموعة على (17) نصاً أدبياً تعبر عن جيل من الأدباء المعاصرين، كتبوا وأجادوا في نقل صورة الواقع قديمة وحديثة في آن معاً.
