تناولت الكتاب بالتحليل المعمق إتجاهات اللاجئين حول قضايا الحل النهائي، وسعت الدراسة من وراء ذلك إلى التعرف على آراء وإتجاهات اللاجئين الذين هم أحد أهم قضايا الحل النهائي الخمسة من ناحية، ومن ناحية أخرى يمثلون العدد الأكبر من السكان الفلسطينيين في الوطن والشتات، ولكبر حجم الدراسة تم دراسة إتجاهات اللاجئين الفلسطينيون نحو قضايا الحل الدائم في محافظة رفح بإعتبارها نموذجاً وليست حالة منفردة، خاصة في ظل التغيرات المتلاحقة على القضية الفلسطينية.
وتكمن أهمية الكتاب بأنها دراسة ميدانية تعتمد على المنهج الوصفي لتحليل البيانات وطبقة الإستبانة "أداة الدراسة" على عينة عشوائية من اللاجئين في محافظة رفح بكافة مخيماتها.
وحاولت الكتاب الإجابة عن التساؤل الرئيس الذي يتعلق بعنوان ومحتوى الدراسة وهو: ما هي إتجاهات اللاجئين في محافظة رفح نحو قضايا الحل الدائم؟، وقد قدمت الدراسة تحليلاً معمقاً للإجابة عن أسئلة الدراسة الفرعية في ستة فصول، والتي تتعلق بإتجاهات اللاجئين في محافظة رفح حول قضايا الحل الدائم.
