«عينان ترمشان بلا نهاية تحاولان عبثاً الاستيقاظ» عنوان طويل لقصائد قصيرة كتبها بيضون، وأضاف إليها نصوص مجموعته السابقة «جندي عائد من حرب البكالوريا» بعدما عمل الشاعر على تنقيحها. قصائد نثر يُدخل فيها الشاعر حياته اليومية، كما يُدخل أفكاره في الوجود، بأسلوب تغلب عليه السخرية، كما تحرك الصور الشعرية مخيلة خصبة ومبتكرة، وتتنقل النصوص بين مواضيع يهملها الشعر. وبيضون، الذي حاز مؤخراً دكتوراه في الفلسفة من جامعة السوربون، فاز في مسابقة «بيروت 39» العام 2009. "وحدي في فم الوحش، ولا أعرف كيف وصلت إلى هنا.
لا أرى ملامحه، بل فقط جوفه الهائل يحيطني من كل جانب ويغوص في الفضاء مبتلعاً مسافاتٍ خيالية.
عالقاً بين هاويتين، تارة يخيّل إلي أنني أسقط وتارة أنني أصعد، ثم أكتشف أنّ بإمكاني أن أوجّه مخيّلتي بحريّة في جهة أو في أخرى. نسيمٌ بارد يلفح عنقي، أتحسّس المنطقة المصابة فأكتشف عدم وجود أيّ هواء. هنا ألاحظ واقع أنني لا أتنفس وإثر ذلك تعتريني ألفة غريبة.
لكن أين يمكن للألفة أن تتماهى مع الغرابة إلى هذا الحد؟ هل هذا يعقل؟ هل متّ؟ هل يكون الأنا المنغلق على نفسه من أمام العالم وحشاً أعمى يجترّ ظلامه إلى ما لا نهاية؟"
