"يستيقظ موزار كل صباح وطعم الكآبة مرّ في فمه، يغسل وجهه الأصفر، ينظر في المرآة محاولاً أن يرى نفسه بوضوح أكبر يتحسسها محاولاً أن يخترق سطحها الزجاجي الشفاف ليلمس حقيقته الباهتة، يتمنى أحياناً لو يستطيع أن يزيل قشرة هذا الواقع الباهت ليكشف تحته عالماً سحرياً يتلألأ بلوعة حية، إلا أن جفاف اليوم سرعان ما يمتص تشوه تلك التخيلات الميتافيزيقية، يلبس ثيابه، يذهب إلى الجامعة حيث يفلح الأفكار، يتبادل بضجر ردات الفعل الآلية مع محيطة، مرحباً، تفضل، شكراً، أهلاً، عفواً... وإلى ما ذلك ويتساءل عن المعنى الأجوف لتلك الكلمات، لماذا لا يصمتون فحسب ويكونون صريحين أكثر قليلاً".
