أدّت ثورة الخامس والعشرين من كانون الثاني / يناير 2011 إلى تغييرات كثيرة ساهمت في إعادة تشكيل المجال الديني في مصر؛ فخلال سنوات ما بعد الثورة، ظهرت أفكار وتيارات وأحزاب جديدة سعت كي يكون لها حضور وتأثير في الفضاء العام.
وفي الوقت نفسه شهد كثير من الجماعات والتيارات والأحزاب الإسلامية القائمة مراجعات فكرية وإنقسامات تنظيمية وصراعات سياسية، رسمت في مجملها ملامح المشهد الديني خلال السنوات الماضية؛ لذا فإن هذا الكتاب هو محاولة جادّة لفهم وتفسير التحوّلات التي مرّ بها الحقل الديني في مصر طيلة العقد الماضي، خاصة على مستوى الإيديولوجيات والتيارات والممارسات، وذلك من خلال عرض خارطة التفاعلات الدينية وتفكيكها، ودور الثورة وما تلاها من أحداث وتقلّبات في تشكيل ملامحها.
لا ينطلق هذا الكتاب من مواقف مسبقة، كما أنه لا يتبنى موقفاً أيديولوجياً او متحزّباً من الظاهرة الدينية، وتمثّلاتها في النسق اليومي، بقدر ما يسعى إلى تقديم تحليل وتفسير متماسكين يعكسان تعقيدات هذه الظاهرة، ويرصدان تطوّرها، ويكشفان تحوّلاتها خلال مرحلة ما بعد الثورة، وذلك عبر عملية تفكيك معرفي لها تعتمد في الأساس على منهجية رصينة للرّصد والتقييم والتحليل المكثّف لخرائط الفاعلين الدينيين في مصر سواء على مستوى الأفكار أو الممارسة طيلة السنوات الماضية.
