إن هذا الكتاب يلقي الضوء على الكيفية التي تشكّلت بها جماعة "الإخوان المسلمين" بإعتبارها حركة إجتماعية سياسية؛ كما يركّز على التحوّلات التي عرفتها، من خلال الكشف عن إستراتيجية التجنيد أو ما يسمى "مطاردة الفريسة" لإجتذاب الأعضاء الجدد، وكيف تنسجم مع عمليات التنشئة والتلقين والتماثل الهويّاتي وإعادة تشكيل تصوّرات الفرد لتتطابق مع أيديولوجية الجماعة وأهدافها؛ ومن خلال إستكشاف العلاقة بين مستويات الجماعة التنظيمية المختلفة (الأسرة، الشعبة، المنطقة...) وتأثير التعديلات على نظامها.
