الكتاب يندرج ضمن ما يتعارف عليه اليوم في الأكاديميات العلمية بأدبيات "التجربة" ، وأدبيات "التجربة" نوع من المعارف الناشئة والتي تنمو وتزدهر مع ازدياد تجارب الرحلات، والسياحة البيئية، وأنماط الحياة غير المألوفة التي بدأت تستثير الإنسان في عصر التحولات الكبيرة، وخاصة التطور التكنولوجي، الذي يستحث الإنسان للتعرف على خبايا الكون وفضاءاته الواسعة.
قدم المؤلف لكتابه بمقدمة ومما جاء فيها: " ... بقيت أنا الإماراتي التاسع في نيبال وحدي محتجزاً في مدينة ناميش، على ارتفاعات جبلية شاهقة، وفي منطقة نائية يصعب الوصول إليها" ويقول في مكان آخر "رحلتي إلى نيبال كانت مغامرة جبلية للوصول إلى أقرب نقطة ممكنة إلى أعلى قمة في العالم. كنت واضحاً في هدفي ومستعداً لتحقيق حلمي وممارسة هوايتي السنوية المفضلة". وفي يوم ما من دفتر يوميات جبال هيملايا كتب المؤلف "يجب أن استمر في المغامرة لأتأكد أنني على قيد الحياة ...".
