من سبل الإهتمام بالمال جاء ذكره في القرآن الكريم في ستة وثمانين موضعاً، مفرداً وجمعاً، معرفاً ونكرة، وفي ذلك دليل على الإهتمام القرآني الشديد به، والنظرة الإسلامية الخاصة إلى ما بعد اليوم عصب الحياة؛ ولم يتوقف إهتمام الإسلام بقضية المال عند إعتباره مقصداً من مقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية الضرورية التي لا تقوم الحياة ولا تستقيم إلا بها، بل وضع من التشريعات ما يضبط وسائل إيجاد المال وتحصيله من الإنحراف، وما يحفظ بقاء المال وإستمراره من التعدي أو الضياع.
ومن عظمة هذا الدين أن جعل للنية الصالحة في كسب المال - إن كان ضمن الطرق المباحة - دوراً كبيراً في تحويل الأعمال المباحة إلى عبادة من العبادات يثاب عليها المسلم.
ومن محاسن الشريعة الإسلامية تشريعها لعدة أحكام تساهم مساهمة فعالة في حماية الأموال وإحرازها وحفظها لأصحابها، ومن هذه الأحكام مشروعية اللقطة التي تحقق مصلحتين: الأولى: للمالك، في حماية ماله وإحرازه من الضياع، وإمتداد الأيدي الخائنة إليه، فلا يمكن للمال أن يبقى بدون مالك، لأن بقاءه بغير مالك يؤدي إلى تخاصم الناس في حيازته.
والثانية: للملتقط، في تحصيل الثواب، لأنه قد التزم بأداء اللقطة، وهي أمانة عنده، فيثاب على أداء هذا الإلتزام، لأنّ فيه إمتثالاً لأمر الشارع، قال الله تعالى: ﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الْأَمَانَاتِ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا﴾... [سورة النساء: آية 58]، والخضوع لأمر الله تعالى يكون سبباً لنيل الثواب، ثم إن الشريعة الإسلامية تقطع كل العوامل النفسية التي تداخل الإنسان لأخذ اللقطة دون تعريفها - إعلانها - بعوامل نفسية مضادة تصرف النفس عن أخذ اللقطة دون القيام بالتعريف، قال: "لا يؤوي الضالة إلاّ ضال ما لم يعرفها، وقوله أيضاً: "ضالة المؤمن حرق النار".
