يعتبر هذا الكتاب محاولة متواضعة لتقديم موضوع الدعاية والحرب النفسية بصورة أتمنى أن تكون موضوعية شاملة حول ماهية الدعاية والحرب النفسية وأساليبها وأهدافها، وأهم المدارس الدعائية والأساليب التي اتبعتها والتي أصبحت نموذجاً يقتضى به، نظراً لما تحويه الدعاية والحرب النفسية في العالم الحديث من أهمية وتأثير على الرغم من تعدد المؤلفات التي تناولت هذا الموضوع، ولذلك فقد رأت الباحثة التعمق ببعض مواضيع الدعاية والحرب النفسية. وبناء على ذلك فقد احتوى هذا الكتاب على ستة أبواب رئيسية، تناول الباب الأول التعريفات الأجنبية والعربية لمفهوم الدعاية وعناصرها نظراً لارتباطها بكثير من العلوم والأساليب الأخرى، ونشأة وتطور الدعاية منذ وجود الخليقة مروراً بالعصور القديمة والوسطى والحديثة. وركز الباب الثاني على الخصائص العامة التي تتصف بها الدعاية، والقواعد الرئيسية العامة التي يجب أن يتبعها الداعية عند استخدام وصياغة الدعاية، بينما احتوى الباب الثالث على تقسيمات الدعاية وأساليب الدعاية التي تم اتباعها عبر مراحل التاريخ الحديث، وأما الباب الرابع فقد ركز على الشائعات بشكل مفصل نظراً لأهميتها والتي تعتبر من أهم أساليب الحرب النفسية الحديثة، وأما الباب الخامس فقد جاء حول ماهية الحرب النفسية وتعريفاتها وأشكالها، خصائصها بشكل مفصل، فيما جاء الباب السادس بأهم المدارس الدعائية العالمية نظراً للأحداث الدولية التي حصلت خلال القرن العشرين وتعدد الأنظمة السياسية التي ظهرت خلال ذلك القرن والتي استخدمتها في صراعاتها خلال الحرب العالمية الأولى والثانية.
