وقد وصف المستشرق لويس ماسينيون هذا الكتاب قائلاً: "إنه توق إلى الكمال في أدق التفاصيل. والاستيحاء من ألوانها القزحية، وانعكاسها في الزخارف العربية، هو السمة النفسية الخاصة لدى العامل في المنظمات الحرفية التي قوامها إتقان العمل والصدق والكسب الحلال".
