يتناول هذا الكتاب ظواهر الباراسيكولوجية من المنظار العلمي ويناقش على ضوء مفاهيم الفيزياء الكلاسيكية فيزياء نيوتن والترموداينمك، ويطرح رأي كلفن وآراء بعض الرياضيين مثل بعض الرياضيين مثلاً لا بلاس وحتى علماء الفيزياء الحديثة مثل انيشتين-شرويدنجر الذين لم يستطيعون أو يقبلوا بعض تفسيرات ظاهر ومفاهيم فيزياء الكم، ثم يتناول المؤلف الفيزياء الحديثة والمفاهيم اللاتحديدية التي تتعامل مع تصرفات الجسيمات دون الذرية خارج نطاق قوانين ومعقولية الفيزياء الكلاسيكية ويستفيد من الواقع الجديد في العلم بأن لكل مجال علمي حقله الخاص وقوانينه التي قد لا تنطبق على حقوق العلوم الأخرى.
وبالرغم من أن المؤلف يريد الابتعاد بالباراسيكولوجي (ظواهر ساي) من أن تخضع لتفسيرات علمي في أي حقل كانت ولكن كل محاولاته ونقاشاته تنصب على ظواهر ساي لها حقلها العلمي الخاص وكل حقل علمي يتعامل مع ظواهر بموضوعية تلائم واقعه وعطاء التجارب، وقد حاول جاهداً لأن يؤطر ساي بإطار من واقعها الخاص دون الالتفات إلى ضرورة ربطها بحقول العلوم الأخرى.
وبهذا يكون المؤلف محقاً في ذلك لأن حقل المعرفة والموضوعية العلمية في الطب العام والطب العصبي مثلاً لا تخضع بالكامل أو بالضرورة لقوانين الفيزياء الكلاسيكية ولا حتى الكمية ولا يمكن أن يوضع لها ضوابط علمية مسبقة تخضع لها ولكن واقعها وما يفهمها العالم منها يدفعه لوضع التفسيرات والشروحات والإيضاحات لها حتى يمكنه معالجتها وهذا ليس هو واقع كما هو ولكن كما يفهمه العالم صورة في فترته التاريخية.
