"وقد توصل البحث من خلال الدراسة والاستنتاج إلى جملة من النتائج وهي: 1. إن الظروف الدولية والإقليمية خلال الحربين العالميتين، كان لها بالغ الأثر في طرح مشاريع الوحدة والسعي لتحقيقها، التي تلاقت وانسجمت مع طموح العائلة الهاشمية وسعيها لتأسيس كيان عربي تكون هذه العائلة على رأس السلطة فيه.
2. كما أن المشاريع الهاشمية الوحدوية حاولت تغطية قبولهم بالوجود اليهودي في فلسطين، بشكل شرعي ومبرر، بهدف كسب ود الصهاينة، ومن خلاله كسب تأييد الدول العظمى لتحقيق مشاريعهم الوحدوية.
3. أثبتت الدراسة على أن الدافع الأساس لطرح المشاريع الهاشمية الوحدوية هو الطموح الشخصي في امتلاك السلطة في منطقة المشرق العربي، والدليل على ذلك هو قبول الملك عبد الله بضم سوريا الكبرى إلى مملكته في فترة حياته فقط، ولم يمانع بانتقال السلطة إلى الوصي عبد الإله من بعده، أو إلى أي شخصية هاشمية أخرى. أما نوري السعيد، السياسي العراقي المخضرم، فكان من أسباب سعيه لتحقيق مشروع الهلال الخصيب، هو التخلص من الوصي عبد الإله وإبعاده عن عرش العراق؛ حتى يتمكن من الانفراد بالسلطة في هذا البلد.
4. إن تأسيس جامعة الدول العربية عام 1945 هو نتاج للصراع القائم بين المحور الأردني-العراقي، والمحور السعودي-المصري. أن الصراع الدائر بين المحورين سالفي الذكر، وفيما بين الدول العظمى، كان وراء الانقلابات العسكرية في سوريا، وما آلت إليه من اضطرابات داخلية امتدت من عام 1949 حتى عام 1956. وإن بعض الشخصيات السورية فضلاً عن بعض الأحزاب كانت عاملاً مساعداً في تأجيج هذه الاضطرابات.
5. اتضح من خلال الدراسة أن من أسباب فشل المشاريع الهاشمية الوحدوية هو وجود عناصر قوية في الجيش السوري، فضلاً عن وجود الوطنيين السوريين في مؤسسات الدولة السورية الأخرى، آمنوا بالنظام الجمهوري، ولم تكن لديهم الرغبة بالارتباط بالعراق الملكي."
