كان مركز دراسات الوحدة العربية، في إطار دأبه على القيام بالجهد التوثيقي تجاه قضايا وحدة الوطن العربي، قد نشر كتاباً توثيقياً أعده د. يوسف خوري عن المشاريع الوحدوية العربية، 1913-1987 يضم المشاريع الوحدوية التي تبلورت منذ المؤتمر العربي الأول المنعقد في باريس عام 1913 حتى آخر عام 1987 وقد كان كتاباً توثيقاً لمشاريع وحدوية. الرسمية منها وغير الرسمية، الشاملة منها والإقليمية، التي ظهرت منشورة، في كتب أو مجلات أو جرائد، اعتباراً من مقررات المؤتمر العربي الأول المنعقد في باريس سنة 1913 وحتى آخر سنة 1987. وقد ارتأى هذا المركز أن يضم إلى الكتاب في طبعته الثانية هذه التي هي بين يدي القارئ المشار مع الوحدوية التي تبلورت خلال عامي 1988 و1989. كما جاءت المشاريع الجديدة في ملحق سادس أضيف في هذه الطبعة الموسعة للكتاب إلى الملاحق الخمسة التي ضمتها الطبعة الأولى. وأبقى المركز على محتويات الطبعة الأولى كما هي دون نقصان باستثناء اختصار طفيف اقتضته الضرورة في التمهيد، وتغطية الفهرس العام لمحتويات الملاحق. وقد شمل هذا الكتاب: مشروع وحدوي وبحسب تتابعها الزمني مع نحو 300 وثيقة كانت قد تفرعت عنها. وأما الملاحق الستة فقد تناولت: الوحدة في دساتير الأقطار العربية، الوحدة وفق رؤية مفكرين عرب للفترة (1936-1944)، ميثاق حقوق الإنسان والشعب في الوطن العربي، وبيانات مؤتمرات القمة غير العادية.
