الأبناء في حياتهم المدرسية وكذلك في حياتهم الأسرية وفي مختلف تفاعلاتهم اليومية تواجههم مشكلات عديدة يرجع بعضها إلى عوامل نفسية أو ثقافية أو اجتماعية أو تربوية أوغيرها، وفي جميع الأحوال يصبح الكبار مسئولين بصورة أو بأخرى عن مساعدتهم على مواجهة هذه المشكلات وحلها. ويلاحظ أن هناك من الأبناء من يبادرون بطلب النصح والمشورة من الكبار، في حين تحجم النسبة الغالبة منهم عن ذلك، وفي الحالتين تكون مسئولية الكبار أكيدة، الأمر الذي يقتضي مبادرة بالدراسة والتشخيص والتوصل إلى قرار بشأن أي مشكلة يواجهها الأبناء.
والمعلم محكم كونه صاحب مهنة مطالب أكثر من غيره بدور أساسي في هذا الشأن، وبالتالي فهو مطالب بالتمكين من المعارف العلمية الأصلية اللازمة، ومما يضاعف من أهمية هذا الأمر أن المعلم يعد شريكا لأولياء الأمور في عملية تربية النشء شأنه في ذلك شأن كل من لهم علاقة بعملية التربية، ومن هنا جاءت فكرة هذه السلسلة والتي تهدف أساسا إلى تقديم دراسات تربوية في مجالات عديدة نرجو أن يفيد منها كل ممارس لمهنة التربية وكل من هو في سبيله للعمل بها.
البحث الذي نقدمه في هذا الكتاب يعرض لمسألة حيوية في ميدان التربية وهي "سلوك التدريس"، إذ أن عملية التدريس لها مقوماتها ومعايير نجاحها، وهو أمر يحتاج إلى تقويم أداء المعلم، ومن ثم فهناك حاجة ملحة إلى تعرف الأساليب العملية المناسبة لهذا الأمر وأهميتها وضوابط استخدامها.
وقد وجه المؤلف اهتماماً خاصاً الملاحظة المختلفة والموقف التي يمكن أن تستخدم فيها، ومواصفات المعلم الكفء، وكذلك نوعية البحوث التي تستخدم فيها مختلف نظم الملاحظة وذلك كله من خلال عرض مبسط وواضح يوحي إلى القارئ أنه يصحب المؤلف في رحلة فكرية ممتعة.
وأرجو أن يكون هذا الكتاب نافعاً لكل مهتم بالعمل التربوي في الوطن العربي الذي نتطلع جميعاً إلى رفعته وتقدمه.
