وقد جعلنا مادة هذا الكتاب في ثمانية فصول: تناولنا في الفصل الأول اللغة، ومفهومها، وأهميتها وعوامل نموها، وتناولنا في الفصل نفسه اللغة العربية، وأهميتها وخصائصها، كما درسنا في الفصل الثاني مفهوم قواعد اللغة العربية، وصعوبة تدريسها، وأنواع طرائق وأساليب تدريسها ووضعنا خططاً تدريسية لكل طريقة من طرائق تدريسها، ومعلوم أن التخطيط للدرس يعدّ من العناصر المهمة في العملية التربوية والتعليمية، إذ يجعلها عملية منظمة، وواضحة، ودقيقة، تساعد على تحقيق أكبر عدد ممكن من الأهداف وبأقل من الأخطاء.
والتخطيط للدرس عملية تصور مسبق ومحدد ومكتوب بشكل منظم، وهو برنامج عمل لما سينفذه المدرس في غرفة الصف، فضلاً عن كونه دليلاً ملموساً على تحضير المدرس درسه وإهتمامه به مما يرجح أن تدريسه سيكون أكثر فاعلية، كما تناولنا في الفصل الثالث الطالعة (القراءة)، ومفهومها، وأهداف تدريسها، وأنواع القراءة، وخطوات تدريسها، وخطة لتدريس موضوع فيها.
أما الفصل الرابع فقد درسنا فيه النصوص الأدبية ومفهومها، وأهداف تدريسها، وخطوات تدريسها مع وضع خطة لتدريس موضوعاً فيها، أما الفصل الخامس فقد تناولنا فيه مفهوم تاريخ الأدب العربي، وأهداف تدريسه، وخطوات تدريس موضوع فيه، أما الفصل السادس فقد تناولنا فيه الإملاء ومفهومه، وأهميته، وأهداف تدريسه مع وضع خطة لتدريس موضوع فيه، أما الفصل السابع فقد درسنا فيه التعبير من حيث: مفهومه، وأهداف تدريسه، وأنواعه، وخطوات تدريسه، مع وضع خطة لتدريس موضوع فيه، أما الفصل الثامن فقد تكلمنا فيه عن البلاغة من حيث: مفهومها، وأهداف تدريسها، وخطوات تدريسها، مع وضع خطة لتدريس موضوع فيها.
