ربما اعتقد الكثيرون أن ثروة الدولة هي المال أو النفط وكلما يتعلق بجوانب الحياة المادية، وربما غفل الساسة وهم يتقاسمون السلطة والثروة عن ثروتنا الحقيقية وهي العنصر البشري، وقد كان بودي أن أحصر الكفاءات الوطنية السودانية المتميزة وسبل الاستفادة منهم في خدمة وطنهم - وهو مشروع كلفت بإقامته وإدارته في عام 1999م - ولكن إرداة الله شاءت أن يتعطل - لأجد الآن نفسي أحصر في بعض الشهداء ومن قضى نحبه أن نستوعب علمه وخبرته وعطاءه الوطني والديني والعلمي، والسودان ما زال بكراً ومادة خصبة لمن يسعى إلى القوة والرفاهية والحضارة، وقد أطلعت على بعض سير السابقين فوجدت أننا فقدنا أعداداً كبيرة منهم خلال فترة وجيزة خلال 1989 - 2009م.
وقد خصصت حيزاً لولاية النيل الأبيض أكثر من غيرها لأنني ولدت ونشأت فيها وأعرفها ربما أكثر من غيرها رغم أن موطن أجدادي الأصلي في الشمالية، وحسب معرفتي أعتقد أن بها منازات علمية واقتصادية ووطنية متعددة، في هذه المحاولة رصد بعض الرموز الوطنية وقد يفوت على ذكر عدد من الشخصيات الهامة، والأمل هو نحتذي بهم ونحافظ ونستفيد ممن تبقى من أمثالهم.
