صدرت عن الدار العربية للعلوم ناشرون الطبعة العربية لرواية “TRUST EXERCISE” وجاءت تحت عنوان "ممارسة الثقة"، والرواية من تأليف سوزان تشوي وتعريب إسماعيل كاظم ومراجعة وتحرير مركز التعريب والبرمجة في بيروت.
تدور أحداث "ممارسة الثقة" للروائية سوزان تشوي في لندن داخل أجواء "أكاديمية المدينة لفنون المسرح"، أو كابا، كما أسماها طلابها وأساتذتها. وهناك في رحاب مدرسة كابا لفنون الأداء يكافح الطلاب ليظهروا قدراتهم في بيئة شديدة التنافس، حيث يتعلمون وبطموح عالٍ القراءة البصرية للموسيقى، وحركة الأداء، وأعمال شكسبير المسرحية، وخلال حصة التمثيل يتدرّبون على تمارين الثقة، حيث يتوجب عليهم كتابة المصطلحات التي تعلّموها كلها بأحرف كبيرة لأنها تُعبّر عن ارتباطهم بالفن.
وتشاء الصدف أن يقع طالبان جديدان، ديفيد وسارة في الحب، ولكن الشغف الذي يتبادلانه لا يمر من دون أن يلحظه الجميع، لا سيما أستاذ التمثيل كينغسلي الذي يتمتع بشخصية كاريزمية.
أكاديمية المدينة لفنون المسرح، أو كابا، هي مدرسة تضع طلابها في ما يشبه الشرنقة التي تعزلهم عن الحياة الأسرية ذات الضغوط، والوضع الاقتصادي، وحياة البالغين المستقبلية، فتمارين الثقة والأداء لمختلف أنواع الفنون التي يمارسونها؛ تحتم عليهم التركيز لاجتياز الاختبارات وعرضها أمام الجمهور بثقة.
أثناء قراءة رواية "ممارسة الثقة" من المؤكد أن ما يظن القارئ أنه حصل لسارة وديفيد وزملائهما ليس صحيحاً بالمعنى الدقيق للكلمة، ولن تتبين حقيقة الأمور إلا بعد وضع المدماك الأخير من مداميك هذه الرواية، عندها ستتكشف الحقائق التي سيتردد صداها لفترة طويلة بعد قراءة الجملة الأخيرة من الرواية.
