يضم هذا الكتاب بين دفتيه وقائع المؤتمر الذي عقد في اليوم الأول من تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر عام 2000 برعاية رئيس الجمهورية اللبنانية العماد إميل لحود وبمشاركة المنظمة العربية للتنمية الإدارية، وقد جاء تحت عنوان "إعادة هندسة التعاون الاقتصادي والمالي العربي" ودام أربعة أيام. خلال الأيام الأربعة هذه تحول المؤتمر منصة حقيقية للتلاقي والتفاكر بين رجال المصارف والمال العرب لبحث شؤون وشجون الصناعة المصرفية العربية في ظل التفاعلات والتطورات الإقليمية والدولية.
وخلالها أيضاً طرحت مواضيع كانت من الغنى بالمضامين والمعطيات فاقت التوقعات خاصة وأن كتّاب مادتها من أصحاب المعالي والسعادة وكبار رجال المصارف والمال. وفيه ركز المؤتمرون على محاور ومجالات جديدة للتعاون بين المصارف العربية.
ولأهمية البحوث التي ألقيت تم ترتيبهم في هذا المؤلف ضن ستة فصول: جاءت عناوينها كما يلي: الفصل الأول: نحو آفاق جديدة للتعاون الاقتصادي والمالي العربي. الفصل الثاني: تحرير التجارة في الخدمات على مستوى المنطقة العربية. والفصل الثالث: ترابط أسواق رأس المال العربية لتعزيز الخدمات والاستثمار البيني العربي. الفصل الرابع: رؤية البنوك المركزية بشأن دور المصارف العربية في تشجيع وتنمية التبادل التجاري والاستثماري بين الدول العربية. الفصل الخامس: الاستثمار البيني في المنطقة العربية: المعوقات الراهنة والفرص المتاحة. الفصل السادس: إعادة الإعمار والإنماء في الجنوب اللبناني وفرص ومجالات مساهمة المؤسسات المصرفية والمالية العربية.
كتاب "إعادة هندسة التعاون الإقتصادي والمصرفي العربي" الذي يغطي أعمال المؤتمر المصرفي العربي لعام 2000 الذي نظمه الاتحاد في مدينة بيروت-لبنان خلال الفترة 1-3 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر، وهو يتضمن مجموعة من الدراسات والبحوث لكبار المسؤولين ورجال المصارف والمال والاقتصاد العرب، ويركّز بصفة أساسية على محاور ومجالات جديدة للتعاون بين المصارف العربية.
