لا غرو أن نلاقى الصعوبات لتغطية دراسة "النقود العربية الفلسطينية وسكتها المدنية" من القرن السادس قبل الميلاد وحتى عام 1946 ميلادية، لذا فقد اقتصرنا على دراسة ما يمكن دراسته من عينات نقدية لكل حقبة تاريخية باذلين الجهد لإظهار نقود كل حاكم أو إمبراطور فى كل مرحلة حتى نكون بإزاء سلسلة نقدية متصلة زمنياً -وبقدر الإمكان- لتاريخ بلادنا.
ولتحقيق ذلك قمنا بتقسيم الدراسة إلى تسعة عشر فصلا مبتدئين بالفصل الأول الذى يمهد للدراسة عن مراحل تطور ظهور النقود (كمدخل للدراسة) ثم اتبعناه بالفصل الثانى الخاص بدراسة علم النميات وأهميته ثم الفصل الثالث عن النقود العربية الفلسطينية أيام الفرس. أما الفصل الرابع فكان عن سكة النقود اليونانية فى فلسطين لتأتى بعدها سكة النقود البطلمية والسلوقية، أما الفصل السادس فكان عن النقود العربية النبطية التى انتشرت فى فلسطين أثناء تواجد الرومان الذين سكوا نقودهم فى فلسطين ليأتى بعدهم البيزنطيون أما الفصول التالية فقد غطت السكة العربية الإسلامية من أموية وعباسية واخشيدية وفاطمية ثم الصليبية فالأيوبية والمملوكية ثم النقود العثمانية ونقود المرحلة الانتقالية 1917 -1927 م واخيراً النقود الفلسطينية التى سكت فى عهد الانتداب البريطانى منذ عام 1927 وانتهت فى عام 1946 والذى يضمها الفصل التاسع عشر والأخير، وقد أشفعنا كل مرحلة بالكشف عن أحوالها السياسية وبنيتها الاقتصادية التى تكتنفها كعوامل هامة وحافزة لسك النقود تعكس الفعالية الانتاجية والنشاط التجارى والقوة السياسية للمنطقة أو المدينة التى ضربت بها، مؤملين أن نكون بذلك قد أسهمنا بجهد متواضع فى بناء لبنة فى صرح هذا العلم الزاخر لبلادنا.
