هناك تداخل كبير بين اللغتين العربية والفارسية إذ استعارت إحداهما من الأخرى عدداً من الألفاظ. كما أن عدداً من أدباء الفرس حاول تقليد كبار أدباء اللغة العربية متأثرين ببعض المؤلفات الشهيرة. وفي المقابل تأثر الأدباء العرب بالفارسية وآدابها إذ أدخلت ألفاظ فارسية في المعجم العربي كما استخدمت بعض المعاني والأخيلة الفارسية في الشعر العربي. وقد بلغ من اهتمام العرب باللغة الفارسية وناطقيها ودارسها أن اهتموا بتدريسها في مدارسهم وجامعاتهم.
وفي إطار البرامج التعليمية المقررة في الجامعات العربية يضع الدكتور بديع محمد جمعة مؤلفه في قسمين، القسم الأول يقدم دروساً عامة في قواعد اللغة الفارسية مرفقة ببعض التدريبات التي تعين القارئ والدارس على اختبار مهنة لكل قاعدة قد تعلمها-بينما يشتمل القسم الثاني على نصوص باللغة الفارسية تتدرج من اليسر إلى الصعوبة تتيح للمتعلم أن يكتشف معاني الكلمات ومفرداتها والتعرف على كلمات جديدة بطريقة سهلة وميسرة.
