أقدم هذا الكتاب إلى المكتبة العربية آمل أن يدرك القارئ العربي من خلاله، أن الأدب الفارسي-مثاله في ذلك مثال بقية الآداب الشرقية-زاخراً بالعديد من الروائع الفكرية التي تمتع القارئ وتوسع دائرة ثقافته.
وإذا كنت سأتحدث في هذا الكتاب عن بعض روائع الأدب الفارسي فليس معنى هذا أن الأدب الفارسي ليس فيه من الروائع غير ما أذكر، بل إنني-أملاً في ألا أثقل على القارئ-اكتفيت بالتعريف بعدد محدود جداً من هذه الروائع، كما جاء التعريف مقتضباً، إذ أن كل عمل من هذه الروائع جدير بدراسة جادة مستقلة تقع في عدة مجلدات كما هو الحال بالنسبة لشاهنامة الفردوسي، ورباعيات الخيام، ومثنوي جلال الدين الرومي، وأدب سعدي الشيرازي، وغير ذلك من الروائع التي سيضمها هذا الكتاب.
وقد توخيت في دراسة هذه الروائع أن أعرف بالعمل الأدبي وبمؤلفه وبإيراد نص فارسي منه، حتى يستطيع القارئ العربي الذي يجيد اللغة الفارسية التعرف على أسلوب العمل الأدبي والطريقة التي يعرض بها المؤلف أفكاره، ولعله يحاول قراءة العمل الأدبي كله، وبعد ذلك لا يجيد اللغة الفارسية الإطلاع على نموذج من هذا العمل الأدبي الرائع.
كما حاولت أن تكون الأعمال الأدبية التي أعرف بها ذات اتجاهات متعددة، فبعضها في التاريخ، وبعضها في أدب الرحلات والبعض في التصوف، كما أن بعض هذه الروائع كتبت نثراً والبعض الآخر نظمت شعراً، وقد حرصت على إيراد كل هذه الاتجاهات حتى يستطيع القارئ العربي، الإطلاع على جزء من التراث الأدبي الفارسي في زواياه المختلفة.
وإذا كنت أقدم هذا الكتاب للقارئ العربي، فإنني حرصت كذلك على الإشارة إلى بعض مظاهر الاتصال بين هذه الروائع الأدبية وما تمثله من فكر إيراني وبين الفكر العربي، لعل القارئ العربي يدرك كم كانت الصلات وطيدة بين الأدبين العربي والفارسي في عصورهما المختلفة، وربما يحاول البعض العودة إلى ترسيخ وتوطيد هذه العلاقات مرة أخرى.
