ابن عَقِيل (694 - 769 هـ = 1294 - 1367 م)
عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن محمد القرشي الهامشي، بهاء الدين ابن عقيل
• من أئمة النحاة. من نسل عقيل ابن أبي طالب.
• مولده ووفاته في القاهرة. كان بعض أسلافه يقيمون في همذان أو آمد، ولعلهم انتقلوا من إحدا هما إلى مصر، فولد بها عبد الله، فعرّفه مترجموه بالهمذانيّ (أو الآمدي) البالسي ثم المصري.
• قال ابن حيان: ما تحت أديم السماء أنحى من ابن عقيل.
• كان مهيبا، مترفعا عن غشيان الناس ولا يخلو مجلسه من المترددين إليه، كريما، كثير العطاء لتلاميذه، في لسانه لثغة.
• ولي قضاء الديار المصرية مدة قصيرة.

• «المساعد - خ» في شرح التسهيل، نحو [طُبع]
• «تيسير الاستعداد لرتبة الاجتهاد - خ» وهو تلخيص الجامع النفيس، وغير ذلك (1).
