كما الأرواح تسكن الأجساد، تستوطن كلمات الشاعر "ماجد مقبل" ذاته في ديوانه الشعري "سُدى في الكلام". هي نصوص تحيل في غالبيتها على جوانب من الروح وما يتعلق بها من إشارات مثل الحلم والموت، وهي مدلولات يمكنها بشكل أو بآخر أن تحيلنا إلى العالم النصي للشاعر والذي يكشف منذ العتبة الأولى عن نفسه، وفيها نقرأ نصاً بعنوان "بداية مثالية". يقول الشاعر: "كشجرة مسية تبكي؛/كل ورقةٍ خضراء دمعةُ يائسة؛ وتستمر المأساة/في ذاكرتها سوطٌ يجلدُ الـ"لو" باسى:/"لو كنتُ أقل اندفاعاً/لو أخرت قرار اللقاء/لو امتنعت عن قبلةٍ بين كلّ قبلتين/لو مزقت قلبهُ انتظاراً/لو منحته الضوء الأخضر في الرجاء/(...)/البداية المثالية لقصة امرأةٍ تتألم كثيراً هي:/كانت سعيدة..!". هكذا يسيح الشاعر في لغته الصورية مستنطقاً فيها نسقاً رؤيوياً، ومنتجاً عبر ديناميتها مشاهد مثيرة، تشكل في مضمونها رؤاه الخلاقة لإثارة أسئلة فلسفية ومعرفية في قاموسه الغني الفريد.
يضم الديوان (36) قصيدة نثرية جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "بداية مثالية"، و"جهك وأجندة التاريخ"، "شيء من الإنسانية"، "تكفيها قبلة"، "لستِ غريبة"، "في المطر"، "أنا أريد"، (...) وقصائد أخرى.
