هي صرخة ألم أرادت ماري القصيفي أن تطلقها في كتابها "الموارنة مرّوا من هنا" للتنبيه إلى الواقع الماروني المتشرذم، الذي انعكس على الفكر والتربية والمجتمع، وما يحصل في طائفة ينعكس حتماً على الطوائف الأخرى بسبب تركيبة لبنان – تقول القصيفي – باختصار أرادت الكاتبة القول "إن دور الموارنة بدأ بمهمتين رسوليتين هما الحرية والعلم، ولكنهم مع الأسف تنكروا لهذين الدورين، ما أدى بحسب رؤيتي الخاصة إلى كل ما يحصل اليوم في هذه البقعة من العالم". وخير بداية ما عبّرت عنه القصيفي في (هذه النصوص) بقولها: "كنت أبحث عن الكنيسة المارونية، كما قرأت عنها في أدبيات ومراجع وإنجازات وكتابات ونصوص، أظهرت لي أن المارونية لو لم توجد لكان من الواجب خلقها، ولكن في غير الشكل المشوه الذي صارت عليه. لذلك كانت هذه النصوص، ولذلك جاء العنوان: الموارنة مرّوا من هنا، ولذلك كتبت بألم لم تجفّ دماؤه في وقت جفّ فيه الحبر في الأقلام والدمع في العيون والماء في أنهارنا الملوثة، وانتهت إلى غير رجعة صورة لبنان الذي كنا نعرفه ...". في الكتاب جملة مقالات / نصوص كُتبت بألم تتقرى من خلالها ماري القصيفي الواقع المسيحي في لبنان والعالم نشرت سابقاً في عدد من الصحف اللبنانية بين عامي 1990-2008 جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: 1- حُرم الكنيسة والإنتماء المسيحي، 2- رجل الكرسي، 3- كرامة الفقراء في جيب الإعلام، 4- الكنيسة المارونية والهمان الثقافي والإجتماعي (...) الخ.
