*من مواليد عرب قبيبة أولاد شاهين بقضاء اللد ، محافظة الرملة في: 16/02/1946 * تعلم في مدارس وكالة اللاجئين الفلسطينيين برفح حتى المرحلة الثانوية، حيث درس السنتين الأولى والثانية بثانوية بئر السبع برفح ، ثم السنة الثالثة بثانوية عز الدين القسام بخان يونس تخصص تاريخ قديم.
*لعب لخدمات رفح حارسا للمرمى ثم لشباب رفح ، ومثل منتخب رفح وخان يونس و المنتخب الوطني بضع مرات كحارس مرمى ايام مروان كنفاني وفايز الحناوي.
* قدم إلى الجزائر بعد النكسة مباشرة ، والتحق أولا بكلية الآداب بجامعة وهران حيث درس السنة التأهيلية لليسانس ، ثم انتقل إلى كلية الآداب بجامعة الجزائر العاصمة حيث حصل على الليسانس في اللغة والأدب العربي ، والماجستير في اللغة! ، ودكتوراه الدولة في الأدب المقارن.
