ماري أليس.. عندما ذكرت إندهاشك من الإتجاه للصلاة عند مواجهة الأزمات ضحكت. فالحكاية تتكرر يا أليس منذ البداية. لم تفهمي طلبه عندما طلب منك أن تقرئي لتعرفي أكثر عن وطنه ودينه. حنا لم يكن مميزاً دينياً أو أسرته ولم يكن ما فعلوه شيئاً خارقاً أومن غير المعتاد. يا أليس هذا فعل طبيعي في مجتمعنا: الإرتباط الأسري والإرتباط الديني أياً كان الدين. الجميع يلجأون للصلاة ويحتمون بالأسرة. كون حنا يعيش في مجتمع آخر لمدة طويلة لا ينفي عنه تدينه وإرتباطه بأسرته. مثل كل المهاجرين الذين ينقلون قيمهم وعاداتهم إلى البلاد التي يهاجرون إليها. هناك شيئاً آخر أعلم أنك لم تكتشفيه في حنا: نكاته. هذه صفة أخرى نتميز به نحن المصريين. فنحن نطلق النكات على كل شئ وليس معنى هذا دليل سعادة، بل أحياناً يكون العكس تماماً. فالنكات قد تكون وسيلة لمواجهة الأزمات أيضاً. سألت حنا إن كنت تعلمت العربية فقال إنك يئست بعد عدة محاولات وأخبرتيه بأن هذه اللغة صعبة جداً. ربما ولكن هذا منعك من معرفة الكثير مما يحدث في عالم حنا. أثق أن الحب لا يحتاج لمعمل لغات، ولكن الحياة تزخر بالتفاصيل. إن لم تكوني تعلمت اللغة فأتوقع أنك لا تنطقي اسمه بشكل صحيح. فحرف الحاء لا يوجد في الأبجدية الإنجليزية وأعتقد أنك تنطيقينها هاء.
