كتاب يلقي الضوء على ملامح من سيرة رشيد نخله ودوره كأمير للزجل في نهضة هذا الفن الشعبي اللبناني ودفعه إلى الإشراق ونقله من المناسبة الاجتماعية الضيقة، والوصف السردي وحوارات التحدي، والرثاء والمديح، إلى رحابة الشعر الخلاق في سلاسة لفظ وجمال سبك وعميق الفكر؛ "فتناقلته النّاس في المشرقين، وهتفت أصداؤه في الخافقين" واحتلّ مكان الصدارة، وخُصّصت له الصحف والمؤلفات، وأصبح، بحقّ، المدماك الأساس في شعر محكيّ، وصل اليوم العالميّة. وقد كان "رشيد نخلة" (1873- 1939) شاعر، أديب، صحافي، وزعيم سياسي نُفي إلى فلسطين سنة 1915 مع فريقمن أعيان لبنان، وبعد ثمانية أشهر عاد ليُشكل حركة الفدائيين اللبنانيين في بيت الدين، ولمّا آلت البلاد إلى أيدي الحلفاء عُين رئيساً للقلم العربي، ثم مديراً للمعارف والأوقاف والأديان والمصالح العامّة، فمفتشاً للأمن العام ومحافظاً لمدينة صور... كُتب اسمه إلى جانب النشيد الوطني الذي ألّفه، ولحنّه "وديع صبرا"، وتُوّج أميراً للزجل اللبناني.
